Translating Online Learning Skills into Workplace Success
Thursday, May 21, 2015, 6:00-7:00 PM ET
On Thursday, May 21, iNACOL will host a Teacher Talk webinar about how students can translate online learning skills into workplace success from the perspective of Dr. T. Tylor Behrens with Southern Methodist University and several online students.
In today's varied learning environments, the skills and preparation of online learners can be much different than what is found in a traditional setting. To be successful in online learning capacities, students need to come equipped with self-direction, organization, confidence, and the ability to provide and acquire feedback and collaboration.
These skills, which translate to success in online learning, also attribute to success in the workplace. When a student has displayed success in online education, it may show a potential employer integrity, time management skills, and adaptability. By realizing these skills and competencies, students will be able to approach their future career with confidence and hiring managers will recognize those skills in potential candidates.
This webinar will help demonstrate how the connections between the skills of an online learner and the skills that are critical for success in the workplace. During the webinar we'll also hear from actual students who have benefited in the workplace as a result of skills strengthened as an online learner.
Dr. T. Tylor Behrens, SMU
