iNACOL Symposium 2019: A Primer on Submitting Your Proposal to Present

Interested in presenting at the iNACOL Symposium in 2019? Before getting started with the brainstorming process to create session topics and presentations, iNACOL is sharing key points that will help your session stand out. There are many ways to design sessions that will generate meaningful collaboration, foster engagement, and share knowledge. For the upcoming iNACOL Symposium Request for Proposal (RFP) process, it is key to include how you plan to incorporate interactivity with, and among, attendees in your RFP submission.

Join this webinar to learn about the Symposium RFP process, gain insight to the tips and tricks to getting proposals selected to present, and ways to improve interactivity in your session.

A few ideas to consider:

  • Utilize a blended learning or virtual component to sessions as a way of increasing participate engagement.
  • Engage in conversations to share knowledge, lessons learned and best practices; and/or model competency-based, blended or online approaches (i.e. no “front of the classroom”). Avoid a “stand and deliver” session model.
  • What’s your hook? Consider starting the session with a short ice-breaker. Capture what attendees hope to learn from your session.
  • Gauge audience interest and level of understanding on your topic at the beginning of your session and tailor your session accordingly.
