Join iNACOL on Tuesday, March 18th from 3:00pm – 4:00pm ET for a webinar presenting the latest research on online student experiences and expectations from Amy Garrett Dikkers, Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and Aimee Whiteside, Assistant Professor of English and Writing at the University of Tampa.

For more than a decade, Drs. Garrett Dikkers and Whiteside have explored the Social Presence Model in online learning – the methods by which students, teachers and other education professionals communicate and interact with one another effectively in online learning environments.

Over the past three years, they have focused their attention on the K-12 online learning model, specifically conducting research with teachers and students in the North Carolina Virtual Public School (NCVPS).

This webinar will cover NCVPS student perceptions and expectations of their online learning experiences compiled from a large-scale survey and will present an overview of the survey data to date, as well as key findings and major takeaways for brick-and-mortar and online teachers and administrators who are looking to improve support offered for their online students.

Drs. Garrett Dikkers and Whiteside will also discuss how the survey results informed a second survey of NCVPS students that will be distributed in March 2014.
