During my recent participation in the Centrallia conference in Winnipeg, I had asked several World Trade Center representatives and even one ambassador how the education of refugee children was being addressed. As a veteran administrator of online learning programs, I naturally felt like something could be done virtually to help these children and made known my willingness to participate in discussions and do what I could to help. Unfortunately, I found that while everyone recognized the need, no one had any idea how to actually address the problem. I am very happy, therefore, to read this report and see that a high-level conversation is occurring around the subject of access to education and opportunity for all, but particularly for those in refugee camps and war-torn areas who are not able to attend school at this time. I remain eager to be part of this meaningful and important work.
